Our sea shipment finally arrived! It came about a week ago and we've been busily unpacking and finding a place for everything. Although it is nice to have our 'stuff' again, after living with less for a couple months, we now wonder why we need SO much!
Emily has been absolutely thrilled to have all of our toys again. She has spent the last week playing kitchen and emptying bins to find 'new' toys.
Our piano made it without a scratch and nothing was confiscated coming into the county. Yay! We have a Christmas tree and decorations for next year. :-) They did open one box that had some wrapping paper and bows and kids art supplies, but as far as we can tell they didn't take anything. Erik is excited to have his Legos and Lego table again, and Elizabeth was excited to see her dress-ups and more art supplies.
But you do have to check this out. . . So with this one exception, everything was well-boxed and wrapped up in layers of paper. Lots of paper. Even my Rubbermaid bins were wrapped like presents in several layers of paper and then boxed. The Nerf swords were wrapped in no less than 10 layers of paper. So imagine my surprise to find this as we were unpacking:
My porcelain Estonia doll and Terracotta Warrior in a bin with bristle blocks!! Even more strange is that this isn't the bin the bristle blocks should be in. So one of the packers apparently put the dolls in, dumped the blocks in, and then put the whole thing in a box without wrapping it up. Just like this. I still shake my head thinking about it, although I am obviously glad that they both (amazingly) made it in one piece.
